Tubman Prize

Ruth Driker Kroll, ex-
ecutive director of the Detroit
Women's Forum, a project of
American Jewish Committee,
was awarded the Harriet Tub-
man award by the Detroit
Chapter of the National
Organization for Women on
Women's Equality Day, Aug.
26.
The honor, one of four
awarded to Feminists of the
Year, was given to Ms. Kroll
for "her outstanding leader-
ship through community ser-
vice for women as founder
and director of the Detroit
Women's Forum for 13 years."
The Detroit Women's
Forum will meet Wednesday
at noon in the Butzel
Building. The topic is "Impact
of Women in the '88 Presiden-
tial Election." Speakers will
be Rep. Maxine Berman; Mil-
dred Jeffrey, Wayne State
University Board of Gover-
nors; and Libby Maynard,
director, State of Michigan
Office on Aging.
