Prisoner Seeking
Prayer Materials

• COMPLETE DINNERS

arry MaClean, inmate
number 109198,
writes a plea for some
Union prayer books, yar-
mulkes, etc. . . . "With these,
I will be able to teach the rest
of my group so that we may
have Saturday services here.
"We, the congregation, at
KCF (Kincheloe Correctional
Facility) realize that since we
are so far up north, a rabbi
cannot be obtained for Satur-
days to conduct services here.
However, with the necessary
things, we will be able to hold
Saturday services by our-
selves." . . . (They can be sent
to Larr MacLean, c/o
Chaplain Ray Moore, K.C.F.,
Kincheloe, Mich. 49788.)
CONGRATS . . . to Anna
and Herman Blair . . . on
their 70th anniversary.
FASHION show by Tam
O'Shanter Country Club
women revealed a Leah
Marks trademark . . . other
than something different
each time . . . I've yet to see
one that was boring . . . as the
20 male and female models
walked jauntily on the run-
way in rapid precision .. .
strutting to a soft, rhythmic
d.j. beat.
Dancer Andrew Crawford
opened the show with his
usual flow of movement .. .
Then came the models . . . so
many of them . . . wearing fall
fashions that drew many oohs
and ahs from the Tam gals .. .
Furs by Bricker-Tunis, lovely
styles by Bettina, men's
fashion finery from L'Uomo
Vogue, jewelry from 'rapper's,
eyewear of D.O.C., Tamara In-
stitute de Beaute making up
the models and Mariomax
hair stylists fising the lassie's
hair.
Luncheon was typical Tam
O'Shanter . . . very good .. .
and enhanced by waitresses
such as Alice Robare of the
old school, who did so much to
please everyone . . . as a tru-
ly good waitress should .. .
Alice has been around .. .
and Tam is lucky to have her.
Stores have called asking
for Leah Marks' telephone
number . . . Sorry, we do not
give out home phone numbers
without prior permission .. .
Leah's beeper number is
569-0224 . . . and either she
or her secretary will return
the call.
CONGRATS . . . to Sadie
Lauter . . . on her 80th birth-
day . . . First birthday party
ever given for Sadie was at
Romanik's recently . . . with

almost 100 people gathered at
lunch and joviality in honor-
ing Sadie.
RECENT SIMCHA wed-
ding of Natalie Igelwitz to
Allen Skorpia at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek also turned
out to be the reunion of an en-
tire family . . . survivors of
concentration camps at
Buchenwald, Auschwitz, etc.
Only ten are left out of hun-
dreds . . . and all those ten
members of the Weintraub
family were together for the
first time since 1938 . . . The
family has grown again to 80
people.
Those at the wedding were
. . . Larry Wayne, localite who
introduced the other nine sur-
vivors . . . Jack Wayne, Ruth
Kent, Mala Dorfman, Franka
Charlupski, Rosa Schaum-
berg and Franka Igelwitz, all
of this locale . . . plus Leon
Weintrub, Sweden; Mala
Mosenson, Israel; and Lola
Schwartz, Philadelphia.
GET WELL wishes . . . to
caterer Al Rosenberg . . . at
Sinai Hospital.
THOU SHALT Not Kill .. .
Except," movie opening
tonight at 20 theaters, was
directed by localite Josh
Becker, son of Shirley and Ar-
nie Becker, producers of the
film . . . It was written by
Josh and partner Scott
Spiegel, also from here.
Tomorrow night, Shirley's
and Arnie's daughter, Ricki,
will be married to Emil
"Skip" George . . . at the Fur-
niture Club.
SOUTHFIELD HIGH
class of 1977's ten-year reu-
nion is set for Nov. 27, 6:30
dinner at Michigan Inn, J.L.
Hudson Dr. . . . No tickets at
the door . . . For more info,
call Southfield High,
423-8544.
"I DO DEPT." . . . Joyce
Cymerint ringed by Kerwin
White . . . for an April 24
middle-aisle session.
ONE OF THE greatest
puzzles in the world is how
the guy who wasn't good
enough to marry your
daughter has now become the
father of the smartest, most
adorable grandchildren in the
world.
RABBI SAM Silver writes
of a minister recently telling
him that in his day "fast
food" was what one ate dur-
ing lent . . . Some Jews feel
the same way about Yom
Kippur.
STRANGE that people
who park in fire lanes don't
get ticketed . . . You'd think
this would be a number one
priority.
