The Midrasha College of
Jewish Studies is taking

in lifelong learning.

DETROIT, the text of amendment to said bylaws is herewith pub-
lished. The membership of Federation will meet Wednesday, Septem-
ber 30, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. at the Annual Meeting, held in the Jewish
Community Center, 6600 W. Maple. West Bloomfield, to vote on
adoption.
ARTICLE III
Section 2: The Board of Governors to consist of twenty-seven
members of the Federation, nine of whom shall be elected at each
Annual Meeting to serve for three years. However, after a member
of the Board has served two consecutive terms of three years each,
not including any partial term for which an individual may have
been appointed, the member shall not be eligible for reelection
until one year has elapsed from the expiration of the last term of
service; and, provided further, that a member of the Board elected
to office in the Federation during the last year of the second term
shall be eligible for reelection to the Board for one additional term.
Section 4: The Chairman of each Budget and Planning Division to
include the Chairman of the Conference of Division Chairmen, the
Chairman/Chairmen of the Allied Jewish Campaign, the Chair-
man of the JWF/UJC Endowment Fund, the Chairman of the
Leadership/Human Resources Development Committee, and
the Chairman of the Personnel Committee. The Chairmen shall
be selected from the members of the Board of Governors
(amended October 6, 1980).
Section 6: The Board of Governors to engage an Executive Vice-
President who, subject to the control of the Board, shall administer
the business of the Federation and be responsible to the Board for
the execution of the policies thereof. The Executive Vice-
President shall serve as the Executive Secretary.
ARTICLE IV
Section 1: Change the reference to Executive Director in three
places to Executive Vice-President. This change is being instituted
to reflect the current title of the Chief Executive Officer of Federa-
tion.
ARTICLE V
Section 1: New language: The officers of the Federation to consist
of a President, no more than five Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, a
Secretary and an Executive Secretary, all of whom shall perform
the usual services appertaining to their respective offices, and such
other functions as may from time to time be designated by the
Board of Governors. The President, Vice-Presidents, Treasurer
and Secretary shall be elected by the Board of Governors for
terms of one year each and until their successors are elected and
qualified, provided, however, and effective one year after the
adoption of this section, a member of the Board who has served six
consecutive terms as Vice-President, Treasurer, and/or Secretary
shall not be eligible for reelection as Vice-President, Treasurer, or
Secretary until one year has elapsed from the expiration of such
last term.
