The Michigan Inn has been selected as the headquarters hotel for this event which will bring 1,000 bowlers to Detroit. Joe Silver of Morgenthau- L'Chayim was installed as the 1987-1988 president of the bowling association. Other of- ficers are: Eugene Perlman, Julius Schlussel, Seymour Zate and Paul Rafales, vice presidents; Mark B. Sperling, executive secretary; and Israel Liebowitz, treasurer. Trustees are Mike Berkowitz, Gerald Broida, Ir- ving B. Davis, David Diskin, Robert Franklin, Ted Frazis, Jerome Gilbert, Charles Goldstein, Jon Isenberg, Barry Kaplan, Steve Mann, Leo Naiditch, Sanford Plisko, Herbert Scherr and Larry Schlussel. Sperling was also named tournament director for the 1988 International Tournament Committee. The international will also host in Las Vegas a sectional tournament March 5-6. The Dunes will be the host hotel with Showboat Lanes as the primary bowling center. En- try forms will be available in mid-September for tour- naments. Bowlers must register to bowl in the Detroit Section (locals only) in order to be eligible to bowl in the Las Vegas Section.
