BY SUSAN WEINGARDEN A s summer days shorten and fade into fall, thoughts turn to change in fashion and styles. Experts predict warm fall colors in hair tones and make-up, and fuller hair styles to compliment fitted clothes. Most important for fall grooming is treating sun damaged hair and skin and restoring them to a natural, silky, healthy look. "The biggest problem in the fall is getting hair back to normal after being in chlorine and the sun," said BELLISSIMA HAIR DESIGN owner, Neal Levey. "Damaged hair will need conditioners for a smooth healthy look." "There are different ways to condition," said DANIEL J. HAIR SALON owner, Daniel Soller. "I recommend conditioning treatments with moisturizers. We seal conditioners in with clear cellophane or prisms to lock moisture in and add more shine." Both stylists say fall hair styles will change with the fashions. "Hair mimics fashion," Soller said. "We'll see more fitted shapes with more flare at the bottom in clothing, and hair styles will have more width through the sides and less height on the top. SoIler also foresees a lot of 12 FALL '87 body waves and underperming. "For straighter styles, we will see shorter backs with stacking and fringing forward. Neckline length will get shorter to accommodate high collars and bulky knits." Levey predicts hair will be longer and more flowy this fall to compliment the stretch knits and tighter fashions. "Body perms will be blown straight on the top leaving hair curlier on the sides. We will continue to use styling aids such as gel and mousse, and hair pieces will continue to accent styles." Highlighting and shading will be important procedures for hair this winter. "Light brown and reds will be strong," Levey said. "Blonds will have highlights on the top and more natural colors towards the nape of the neck." "This fall we will see a lot of brown and black clothing," adds Soller. "To complement that we will see more warm tones with a lot of gold in hair color." While facialists feel skin needs careful treatment all year round, (including sun blocks) they agree that special care is needed after a summer of sun, clogged pores and dry skin. "The skin produces more oil in summer and gets more clogged," said Aryana Nitkis, co-owner of LA NEIGE. "I recommend a facial every FACING UP TO FALL MAKE UP IS EITHER BRIGHT, WITH A POLISHED RED MOUTH, OR PALE AND NATURAL. HAIR IS MARCELLED INTO FI\GER WAVES.
