night time look is seductive,
with deep color emphasis on
the eyes and brighter lips."
For nail care, Galina
Sasunova, manicurist at LA
FEMME, recommends using gel
system nails. "We put liquid gel
on the nails, which then go
under an ultraviolet light. It
doesn't destroy the natural nail
and makes it stronger and
healthier."
"Nails will be shorter and
more square than oval," said
Olga Kotikovsky, manicurist and
co-owner of LA NEIGE. "Earthy
nail colors will be big, but light
colors and red are always in
fashion."
While at times there is no
alternative, Kotikovsky says
using glue on the nails is not
healthy. "And I don't like using
acrylics. They damage the nails
and can cause infections."
Kotikovsky recommends
starting with a lighter protection
such as a liquid wrap, and then
going to something stronger,
like a gel.
Techniques and temperatures
may change, but good
grooming is always in style. The
best advice? "Follow your own
look," Friedman said. "Do
what's best for you and wear
what you look good in."
