Beth El will have its paid-up
membership luncheon on
Sept. 14 at noon at the
temple.
Guest speaker will be Sonia
Syme, speaking on "Jewish
Medical Ethics: Rabbinic
Answers to Modern Pro-
blems."
Mrs. Syme is the head of
religious education for the
Sisterhood of Temple Israel.
She has planned and ex-
ecuted retreats for the
sisterhood for more than 25
years. Mrs. Syme is a 12th
grade teacher at Temple
Israel; preparing students for
college experience.
She is also a teacher in the
College of Jewish Studies on
the subject of Responsa —
Rabbinic Answers to Modern
Problems, stressing especial-
ly, Jewish medical ethics.

Young Women
Hold Auction
The Young Women of
Jewish National Fund-Erev
will have their 16th annual
auction on Oct. 18 at Temple
Beth El, announced Karen A.
Katz, president. A preview
and silent auction will begin
at 6:30 p.m. and the vocal auc-
tion starts at 8 p.m.
Franklin Greenberg of Auc-
tions Unlimited, will conduct
the bidding and sales.
Refreshments will be served.
Tickets are available at the
door or by calling JNF,
557-6644.
Items to be auctioned off in-
clude hotel accommodations,
appliances, gift certificates
for area restaurants and
theaters, Red Wings tickets,
jewelry, symphony tickets,
clothing, paintings, food cer-
tificates and gift certificates
for many other personal items
and serices.

highlight the opening
membership program of Sum-
merset Woods Chapter,
Women's American ORT, at
7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The program will be
presented at Esther and
Estelle's, Orchard Mall, West
Bloomfield.

Rummage Sale
Cong. B'nai Moshe
Sisterhood will hold its fall
rummage sale on Wednesday
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
synagogue. Many household
goods and clothing will be
featured.

Adat Shalom Sisterhood
will have its annual
sisterhood membership lun-
cheon, honoring all of their
life members, at 1 p.m. Sept.
14 at the synagogue.

Board Meets
Bea Feigelman, president of
the Women of Jewish Na-
tional Fund, announces that
their opening board meeting
of the year will be held at
noon Tuesday at Tempel
Emanu-El.
- The musical program will
feature the Rose Morgan
Chorale Group, singing Yid-
dish, Hebrew and show tunes.
Ann Grossman will give the
invocation. Members are re-
quested to bring their Blue
Boxes for clearance. Cake and
coffee will be served.
