Women's Group
Will Gather

The Cooperative Council of
the League of Jewish Women
will meet on the first Thurs-
day of each month at the
Jewish War Veterans
Memorial Home at 9:30 a.m.,
beginning this Thursday.
The Cooperative Council is
chaired by Irene Rodman,
vice president of the league.
The council is comprised of
ten service organizations
with each group functioning
on its own; however, each
social welfare case is checked
with the clearance chairman
of the council.
At the first meeting, discus-
sion will be held and plans
formulated for the Chanukah
party for the Jewish retarded.
Program Chairman Nancy
Glass organized the day's
events with the help of Bar-
bara Ben, Ms. Boschan, Bar-
bara Gutman, Marci
Shulman, Leila Stollman and
Mary Jo Wolfe. Marilyn
Pickover is Hadassah's fund-
raising vice president. Susan
Yorke is Detroit's Chapter
president.
A minimum contribution is
required. For information,

Lillian Katz
To Be Honored

Lillian "Babe" Katz, case
chairman for 23 years with
the Infants Service Group,
has been named honoree and
1987 Woman of the Year.
The tribute luncheon for
Mrs. Katz will be held at
11:45 a.m. Sept. 8 at Sutton
Place Lodge, Southfield.
Max Sosin will be master of
ceremonies. Music will be pro-
vided by pianist Eric
Rosenow. Friends are invited.
Reservations will be ac-
cepted until Tuesday. There is
a charge. For reservations,
