Meyerowitz of Spring Valley, N.Y. was ap- pointed rabbi of Cong. B'nai Moshe in Oak Park, accor- ding to Robert Roth, B'nai Moshe president, and Norbert Reinstein, chairman of the selection committee. Rabbi Meyerowitz will officiate for the first time at Shabbat ser- vices on Saturday. Rabbi Meyerowitz was elected unanimously by the B'nai Moshe Board of Direc- tors after a year-long nation- wide search. He served at rabbi of the West Clarkstown Jewish Center at Spring Valley, N.Y., for seven years. During his tenure, the membership of that congregation more than doubled and its Hebrew school served 130 children. A graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Rabbi Meyerowitz serves as Soviet Jewry com- mittee chairman of the Rab- binical Assembly of America. In 1986, he was elected a member of the assembly ex- ecutive council, its youngest member. He is the co-founder of Rockland County's Inter- faith Ministerial Breakfast Program.
