In my view this is just not a serious letter. It just came out of the blue." Broder said Levin's staff will prepare several options for Levin to consider as a response. Kutovoy's letter was responding to a request from Carl Levin. It was part of a publicity campaign started by Keith Braun to win his wife's release. In July, 100 con- gressmen signed a letter demanding Svetlana's release, and the couple has been the subject of major stories in the New York Times, letters in the Chris- tian Science Monitor, a report on national public radio, and a nationally-syndicated television show that aired this week.
