Jewish Sports Hall of Fame
. . . with closing ceremony
7:30 p.m. followed by dinner
. . . Will be in the Shifman
Hall at Jewish Community
Center, Drake and Maple.
BIG NEWS FOR party
givers and planners, Simone
Vitale of Sound Ideas and
lovely songstress wife Jeanne,
will be on their own as of Jan.
1 . . . They'll have their own
group . . . no more "the guts"
of Jerry Ross Band . . . play-
ing everything from top 40 to
standards to oldies to Latin,
etc.
Simone plays the lead
guitar and sings, is a whiz at
candlelighting ceremonies or
as an emcee . . . and Jeanne
makes the stage look good as
she belts out all those
wonderful vocal renditions of
hers.
They're finally doing what
they should have done years
ago . . . Simone has been with
Jerry Ross 16 years and
Jeanne 10 years.
Reason for waiting until
,Jan. 1 is that they don't want
folks with bookings this year
to have their parties in
jeopardy . . . which is real con-
sideration, because a lot of
people signed contracts with
the Jerry Ross Orchestra on-
ly if Simone and Jeanne
would be there . . . the couple
is really that good.
The Simone Vitale Band,
now taking bookings, will
have piano, bass guitar and
lead guitar, which Simone
plays, sax, keyboard and two
female singers.
Jeanne is wonderful .. .
singing with her heart and
talking to people between
sets with such warmth and
that beautiful smile of hers
. . . Simone's exuberance is
both on and off stage . . . And
he's a heck of a good advertis-
ing man, too.
They both have Jerry Ross
to thank for a number of
things . . . but one in par-
ticular . . . Simone and
Jeanne met while in the band
. . . when she began in July
singing with the group .. .
November 19 they were
married.

RESTAU-
MANY
RATEURS breathe a sigh of

relief when they sell their
restaurant . . . and the deal
goes through . . . Now they
can relax and "enjoy life"
without the daily hum-drum
of employees calling in "sick",
food prices constantly fluc-
tuating, waste from too much
buying, etc. etc.
But it isn't so . . . not with
