Dr. Joseph Jacobson, Nor-
man A. Pappas, and Fred S.
Yaffe have been named
general chairmen of the Weiz-
mann dinner honoring Jack
A. Robinson which will be
held Sept. 10 at the Hyatt
Regency. Le Masquerade will
provide entertainment.
Jacobson is on the board of
governors of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, active in
Allied Jewish Campaign and
in Project Renewal and is on
the boards of Cong. Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses and
the Community Services
Division of the Jewish
Welfare Federation.
Pappas is active in Allied
Jewish Campaign, American
Board of Overseers and
Detroit Executive Committee
for Bar-Ilan University.
Yaffe is a trustee for Leader
Dogs for the Blind in
Michigan and on the cor-
porate board of the Boys and
Girls Clubs of Michigan.
All three are members of
the board of the Detroit Com-
mittee for the Weizmann In-
stitute of Science.
Money raised at the dinner
and donated to the Jack A.
Robinson Research Fund will
add a laboratory wing to the
Weizmann Institute's

Temple Beth El offers
classes for students with any
handicap, aged 4 and up from
9:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturdays
at Temple Beth El's Prentis
Religious School.
A complete religious educa-
tion to all Jewish students is
taught by teachers who are
certified in the various areas
of special education.
The curriculum consists of:
Jewish History, Bible Heroes,
Jewish Holidays and Sym-
bols, Jewish Values and
Morals, the Rabbis and the
Temple, Judaic Art, Israeli
Music and Dance, Jewish
Cooking and conversational
Hebrew.
Students are taught to use
the Apple computer at their
disposal, to play learning
games to reinforce concepts.
They are proud to offer a
coordinated "Chaverim Pro-
gram". These are seventh and
eighth grade students who
volunteer to assist the special
students. They are both
friends and advocates of the
exceptional students.
This program offers Bar/Bat
Mitzvah, Confirmation and
High School Graduation.
There is a matriculation fee
of $80. lemple membership is
not a requirement, except for
those students who wish to
participate in Bar/Bat Mitz-
vah, Confirmation and High
School Graduation.
