Installed

Rabbi M. Robert Syme of
Temple Israel will be install-
ed as president of the Zionist
Organization of America,
Metropolitan Detroit District,
8 p.m. Aug. 21 at Temple
Israel.
Rabbi Daniel B. Syme, vice
president of the Union of
American Hebrew Congrega-
tions, will speak on "Zionism
and Pluralism: The New
Jewish Challenge!'
A graduate of the Universi-
ty of Michigan and the
Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion,
Rabbi Daniel B. Syme has
served as national director of
education and national direc-
tor of the commission of
Jewish education for the
Reform movement. In 1981 he
was named director of the TV
and Film Institute of the
Union of American Hebrew
Congregations. Author and
TV producer, Rabbi Syme has
also served on the Rabbinic
Advisory Council of the
United Jewish Appeal and
board member of the Na-
tional Religious Education
Association and the National
Council for Jewish Education.
