Southfield Incumbent
Seeking Fourth Term

Southfield Councilwoman
Vicki Goldbaum has an-
nounced her candidacy for a
fourth term on the city coun-
cil. Goldbaum was first
elected to the council in 1977.
She became active in
politics in the 1970s, coor-
dinating police-fire millage
elections. She was also active
on the city's U.S. bicentenn-
nial commission and has
written the city's history.
She has directed art shows
for the Labor Zionist Alliance
and was a founding member
of Young Women of Jewish
National Fund. She also in-
itiated the cultural arts divi-
sion of the city of Southfield.
Mrs. Goldbaum has a
bachelor's degree in art
education and has done
master's work in guidance
and counseling.
She currently serves as ci-
ty council president pro tern,
chair of the Southfield
Democratic Club, vice chair of
the 17th District Democratic

Club, and was the first
Southfield official to serve on
a steering committee of the
National League of Cities.
She is immediate past chair
of the National Women's
Caucus.

Local Zionist Federation
Installs New Officers

Norman Naimark
The Detroit Zionist Federa-
tion will hold its installation
of officers on Thursday at 8
p.m. at the main United
Hebrew Schools building.
Rev. James R. Lyons, direc-
tor of the Ecumenical In-
stitute for Jewish-Christian
Studies, will give the address.
He recently returned from a
two-week visit to Israel,
where he planned ecumenical
tours during Israel's.40th bir-
thday year. Sol Lachman, a
past president of the DZF, and
currently a Wexner scholar,
will be the installing officer.

University, has been awarded
the 1986-87 Chicago Emmy
Award for best children's pro-
gram in a series by the

tional Academy of Television
Arts and Sciences.
