War Veterans of the USA to
accept the post's gift of $1,300
for the purchase of a piece of
updated equipment used in
surgery.

during the meeting were
Henry Seligman, past post
commander; Tom Tannis,
Department of Michigan
chaplain; Marvin Ravitz, past
post commander; and Ben
Paxton, national service
officer.
The Silverman Post also
recently gave a $1,000 gift to
the national JWV for the in-
scription of the name of
Harry T. Madison on a special
memorial wall of the JWV na-
tional headquarters building
in Washington, D.C.
Madison was a past
Michigan JWV department
commander and national
JWV commander. He had
been affiliated with JWV for
45 years.

Samuel and Lillian Hechtman
Rabbi Norman Kahn, ex-
ecutive director of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, has announc-
ed the dedication of the
auditorium of the Sally Allan
Alexander Beth Jacob School
for Girls in honor of Samuel
and Lillian Hechtman.
There are currently 260
students in grades one
through 12 enrolled in the all-
day school.
The Hechtmans have taken
leadership positions on behalf
of the school since the 1940s,
when Beth Yehudah was
located on Dexter and Cor-
tland in Detroit. The
yeshivah has 600 students at
two suburban campuses.
Among the Hechtmans'
other communal affiliations
are: Bar-Ilan University,
Jewish Welfare Federation,
Holocaust Memorial Center,
Israel Bonds and Adat
Shalom Synagogue. The
Hechtman Federation Apts.
in West Bloomfield and the
Samuel and Lillian
