Rina love what they are do-
ing, which is a main factor in
running a class restaurant
. . . He is there 5:30 a.m.
every morning, baking and
prepping . . . "Keeping it in
the family," plus Marc, Rina
and Adriano also have a
young son, Adrian, who was
recently introduced into the
restaurant working end of the
business.
Cafe Cortina is open Tuesday
through Friday 11 a.m. to 10
p.m. . . . Saturdays 5 p.m. to
11 p.m. and Sundays 1:30 p.m.
to 9 p.m. . . . It is closed Mon-
days but will reopen for cater-
ing occasions . . . Other days
are also available when the
restaurant is not open.
"I've heard the name, but
don't know where it is," said
Nate Light until wife Irene
reminded him that Cafe Cor-
tina was the place he loved so
much when they went there.
This can pretty much be
said of many other people .. .
and those who have never yet
been to Cafe Cortina are in
for a most pleasant culinary
surprise.
How can a restaurant be
underrated unless one has
been there? . . . Cafe Cortina
is . . . Being "off the beaten
path" might be a reason .. .
little knowledge of its ex-
istence may be another.
But whatever, Cafe Cortina
is a tablecloth and cloth
napkin restaurant of culinary
brilliance . . . truly a delight
that merits eye-opening at-
tention . . . Remember,
though, before going to this
fine restaurant . . . you must
have a reservation . . . It could
be listed among the best
you've ever made.
The dream of Rina and
Adriano Ibno . . . to have a lit-
tle restaurant of their own .. .
is not only a reality . . . it is
a gem.
IS IT TRUE that Jakks on
Greenfield and 10 Mile will
reopen again soon? . . . Word
is that new owner also has
Bootleggers Lounge and will
have belly dancing at Jakks
. . . Mind you now, these are
only words . . . not actual fact
to my knowledge.
HOW PEOPLE TALK is
strange . . . No truth what-
soever that Irving's Deli at La
Mirage Mall on Northwestern
Hwy. was closed for two days
. . . It was actually closed for
just one hour . . . when the
mall's sewer had been clogg-
ed up.
NEW OWNER at Alia's on
Greenfield, north of 11 Mile,
is Ed Farah . . . who folks will
remember from days back in
the northwest area.
IT'S NOW UP to 430
pounds a week . . . That's how
