dent's Alumni Circle during
the rabbinic alumni luncheon
of the HUC-JIR.
Honored were: Rabbis M.
Robert Syme, Harold S. Loss
and Paul Yedwab of Temple
Israel; Rabbi Lane B. Ste-
inger of Temple Emanu-El;
and Rabbi Leonard Kasle,
who currently does not hold a
pulpit.
The President's Alumni
Circle is composed of rabbis
who have shown support of
the HUC-JIR's year-in-Israel
program.

Cantor Chaim Najman of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek was
elected secretary of the Can-
tors Assembly at the 40th An-
nual Convention July 15 in
Jerusalem. Two other Detroit
chazzanim, Cantors Max
Shimansky and Larry Vieder,
were elected to the executive
council.
