Jeru s alem (JTA) — The first

currently in residence at the
university's Harry S. Truman

vancement of Peace, it was
reported last Tuesday.

development of China-Israel
relations.

Anti-Semite
Named Leader

Toronto (JTA) — James
Keegstra, the Alberta high
school teacher appealing his
conviction of promoting
hatred against Jews, has been
named interim leader of
Canada's Social Credit Party.
The party has included
throughout its history a
publicly anti-Semitic faction,
with elements in opposition.
Keegstra was elected by a ma-
jority of one vote at the par,
ty's recent executive meeting
in New Westminster, B.C.

Compensation
For Traveler

Cincinnati (JTA) — The
Jewish Community Relations
Council has presented a
$1,100 check to local resident
Marvin Vaughn for his
troubles at Ben-Gurion Air-
port in Israel.
Vaughn spent about 24
hours there June 25-27 under
security detention, the
American Israelite reports.
Having exited the plane there
wearing a long white robe,
carrying a six-foot bronze
staff topped with a_ Star of
David and reportedly saying
he was the Messiah, he was
suspected of ties to the Black
Hebrew sect.
Israel grudingly allows the
members of the American-
based sect, who believe they
and not the Jews are God's
chosen people, to live in the
Jewish State.
