Howard Keller Wins
Leadership Award

Howard Keller, of Kishon
AZA, son of William and
Beverly Keller of Farmington
Hills, received the 1987 Joan
Kalef Memorial Leadership
Award. The award is in the
form of a fully-paid registra-
tion to the BBYO Interna-
tional Convention to be held
Aug. 18-24.
Ronald L. Posen AZA
elected its executive board for
the 1987-1988 year. Officers
include: Dean Fealk, presi-
dent; Eric Perlstein, vice
president; Zek Einstein,
moreh; Alex Kaplan,
treasurer; Dave Morris, recor-
ding secretary; Frank Bor-
man and Jason Cooperman,
corresponding secretaries;
Jim Fitlow, sergeant-at-arms;
and Hugh Goodman,
counselor. Jon Traines is ad-
visor to the chapter. _
Planning has begun for the
1987 BBYO VIP Leadership
Camp, which will take place
Aug. 25-30 at the Charles and
Florence Milan BBYO Con-
ference Centre in Belle River,
-Ont. The six-day program will
bring together AZA and BBG
chapter presidents from
Detroit, Ann Arbor and
Windsor, for basic leadership
training.
Raoul Wallenberg BBYO of
Ann Arbor elected its ex-
ecutive board for the
1987-1988 program year. Of-
ficers include: Lara
Wineman, president; Sharon
Kileny, vice president; Gony
Frieder, membership vice
president; Shael Polakow-
Suransky, treasurer; and
Barry Levy, secretary. Ad-
visor to the chapter is Jerry
Sorokin.
The BBYO Regional Con-
vention has been scheduled
for Dec. 24-29 at the Jewish
Community Center.
Gen. Maurice Rose AZA
elected its executive board for
the 1987-1988 program year.
Officers include: Paul Niser,
president; Danny Samson,
vice president; Loren Sher-
man, moreh; Ken Franklin,
treasurer; Scott Zumberg,
recording secretary; Eugene
Shabat, corresponding
secretary; Steve Jacobs,
reporter; and Brian Brod,
counselor. Advisor to the
chapter is Micky Rosner.
The AZA Softball League
begins a round robin tourna-
ment, 9 a.m. Sunday, to deter-
mine playoff spots in the
league. The action takes place
at Southfield High School.
Yachad BBG of Windsor
elected its executive board for
1987-1988. Officers include:

Laura Lieberman, vice presi-
dent; Darci Rosenblum, MIT
mom; Lesley Cohen,
treasurer; Zoe Klein, recor-
ding secretary; Gayle Katz-
man, corresponding
secretary; Heather Cheifetz,
reporter; and Jennifer Gold,
counselor. Heather Rudover is
advisor to the chapter.

BUSINESS

GREAT SCOTT! SUPER-
MARKETS' new owners,
Meadowdale Foods, Inc., an-
nounced plans to build at
least 20 new superstores
within the next five years,
almost doubling the number
of outlets they operate in the
Detroit area, and more than
doubling annual sales.
PAUL F. RHODES, CPA,
MST, has joined Follmer,
Rudzewicz & Co., P.C., cer-
tified public accountants, as
an account executive in the
tax department.

Yale Graduate
Receives Award

Matthew E. Sloan was the
1987 recipient of the
Catherine L. Walker History
and Political Science award
upon his graduation from
Yale University. Sloan
graduated magna cum laude,
and plans to attend Harvard
Law School in September
1988. Matthew is the son of
Richard and Sheila Sloan of
Birmingham.

Singles Picnic
