son, Robert of Northfield, Ill.;

22. Survived by her husband,
Louis; nieces and nephews.
ANN M. SHIFMAN, 80, of
Southfield, died July 23. Sur-
vived by her husband, Simon;
two sons, Albert and Allen; a
daughter, Mrs. Allan (Rosalie)
Fox; and six grandchildren.
RUTH SPOON, 90, died Ju-
ly 26. She leaves a son,
Herbert; eight grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.

former Detroiter of Santa
Monica, Calif., died July 23.

of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Mildred B. Rosenberg, a
member of women's and
social welfare organizations,
died July 23 at age 82.
Born in Ohio, Mrs.
Rosenberg was a member of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek and its
sisterhood, Hadassah, Home
Relief Society and Sinai
Hospital Guild.
She leaves a son, Harvey; a
daughter, Mrs. Noel (Hilda)
Gage; eight grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Norman Cohen, co-founder
of the U.S. Lumber Co. in
Detroit, died July 23 at age
85.
Born in Poland, Mr. Cohen
founded his company in 1929
and retired in 1970. He was a
member of Pisgah Lodge of
B'nai B'rith, Adat Shalom
Synagogue, Cong. Beth
Shalom and established the
Molly and Norman Cohen
Forest in the JFK Peace
Forest in Israel.
He leaves a son, Norton J.;
a daughter, Mrs. William
(Lorraine) Solomon; a brother,
Abraham; a sister, Mrs. Ber-
nice Radner of Hallandale,
Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Sara Last
Sara Last, a life member of
Cong. Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses and its sisterhood, died
July 25.
Born in Poland, Mrs. Last
also was a life member of the
Jewish Naional Fund.
She leaves a son, Morris;
two daughters, Mrs. Stanley
(Elaine) Weingarden and
Dorothy; two grandchildren
and one great-grandson.

Morris R. Cole, co-owner
and president of Epps Spor-
ting Goods from 1940 until
the business disbanded in
1980, died July 26 at age 79.
Born in New York, Mr. Cole
was a member of Tam
O'Shanter Country Club,
Furniture Club of Detroit and
the Crescent Shrine Club.
He leaves his wife, June;
