A number of key committee
chairmanships have been
assigned in conjunction with
the forthcoming annual Bar-
Ilan University dinner to be
held Sept. 2 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue, announced
Sharon Hart and Lawrence
Jackier, general chairmen.
Dean Gould, Beverly
Leuchter and Arthur Liss
have been appointed by the
university's Detroit Friends
to chair their annual New
Prospects evening.
The arrangements commit-
tee will be chaired by Bever-
ly Liss. The new leadership
committee is co-chaired by
Bernard Stollman and Alan
Yost.
The Bar-Ilan telethon com-
mittee is co-chaired again this
year by Nora Lessman and
Sherman Shapiro.
Abraham Pasternak has
been appointed Bar-Ilan's
synagogue liaison. Jacob
Rosenthal has been retained
as Windsor's Bar-Ilan chair-
man. In Toledo, Leo Goldner
has assumed the Bar-Ilan
chairmanship.
At the September dinner,
Bar-Ilan will honor Emery I.
Klein "in recognition of his
many years of service on its
behalf." It will mark the in-
auguration of the Emery and
Diane Klein Business
Fellowship Fund. At the din-
ner, the university will also
confer its communal service
award on Sen. Carl Levin.
