In the future, one of Probus' goals is to enlarge its membership, says Stone. "The only criteria are that you be Jewish and a profes- sional person — a business person, or some profession. Since our dues are what spon- sor our projects, we're always looking to find more members, of course." Membership meetings are held annually, to which guests are invited by Probus Club members. Although, according to Stone, there are no women in the Detroit chapter of the Pro- bus Club, they are welcome to join, and do make up a grow- ing percentage of member- ship in other chapters. "Also, we'd like to be more well known (in the future)," adds Stone. "Even though we do a lot of work, we'd like to know of other new projects we could work on. You know, if there's a specific individual or group that's in need, we want to know about that. It's what we're here for — to help." •• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • I • • RCA Video Cassette Recorders • • • • • • NOW • • • • • ON • • SALE • • • • • 10 SEIKO 40% OFF17- I RCA-SONY TVs ; QUARTZ WATCHES PHONE ANSWERING MACHINE • • • EUREKA VACS CROSS PENS 40% OFF LT • Mr K-45 KITCHEN-AID MIXERS "NOW" $159.98 • • • • • TOASTER OVENS MEN'S & LADIES COLOGNES • BRAUN ELECTRIC SHAVERS I RCA VIDEO RECORDERS • • • NORELCO OSCAR BRAUN'S- • • LINCOLN TOWERS SUITE 111 • • 968-5858 15075 W. The newspaper said the South African government has been informed of the pro- posals through diplomatic channels and has also been advised that Israel intends soon to discuss the issue of sanctions. Pretoria has responded by warning Israeli diplomats that approval of the proposed measures could increase anti- Semitic attitudes and actions on the part of the nationalist- conservative wing of the white population against South Africa's Jewish com- munity of about 120,000. According to the news- paper, the Cabinet may con- vene in special session to consider recommendations prepared by an inter-depart- mental team of senior of- ficials. Proposals include a cut-off or drastic limitation of trade tourism, cultural and sports ties. The proposals ap- parently are supported by Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. 9-10-11-12 Thursday & Friday 10 AM-9 PM Sat. 10 AM-6 PM, Sun 12 PM-5 PM KIDS! ! Chuckles the Clown is Back!!
