whch was attended by many
out-of-town friends and rela-

Mr. Gottesman was born in
Detroit in 1909, and has
spent his life in the Detroit
area. Mrs. Gottesman was
born in Baltimore, Md., and
came to Detroit 65 years ago.
They have been active

executive positions with the
Jewish War Veterans and are

member of the American
Legion, whose first fishing
derby held on Belle Isle was
organized by him. To this day

cooperation with the Legion
and the city of Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. Gottesman
also have been active partici-
pants and early members of
Cong. Beth Achim on whose
board Mr. Gottesman has
served in a variety of posi-
tions.
Two years ago he was hon-
ored by Beth Achim on the
occasion of his 75th birthday.
At that time, he chanted the
Haftorah of his bar mitzvah.
Until his recent retirement,
Mr. Gottesman was for many
years an area representative
for the Hanes and Buster
Brown apparel companies.
Mrs. Gottesman worked for
American Savings Bank, at
