THE IMPORTANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF ORTHODOX RABBIS

Judge Avern Cohn

Associate Chairman

Statement by Judge Avern Cohen:

Statement from David Hermelin:

"We are a people of community. Our strength
throughout the ages has been premised upon our
capacity to organize our forces and care for our
own needs. Our values and traditions are a very
important part of the glue of our community. The
Council of Orthodox Rabbis has dedicated itself to
the maintenance of our traditional value system.
Their work has dealt with the many facets of Jewish
communal and individual needs. Rabbi Grubner
in his role as the "menahel" of the Vaad has been
a strong force in making the Vaad what it is today.
It is appropriate that he should be honored for his
dedicated work and energy. I urge you to be
counted amongst the supporters of the Council of
Orthodox Rabbis and join us at their annual ban-
quet Monday evening June 29th."

"I have been involved with the Council of Orthodox
Rabbis for many, many years. I am proud to count
myself amongst its friends. My support and yours
is essential to allow this dedicated group of Rab-
bis the ability to continue their vital work on behalf
of all the members of the Greater Detroit Jewish
community. Rabbi Grubner deserves the accolades
of the entire community for his tireless dedication
to the Vaad. His scholarship, standing, drive and
determination in his work as the "menahel" has
allowed this organizaton the success that we all en-
joy. Please join with us as we honor Rabbi Grubner
and the Vaad Harabbonim."
