Karen Gold, 16, daughter of
Francine and Edward Gold,
was recently elected president
of the Michigan Region, B'nai
B'rith Girls (BBG). The region
includes all chapters within the
state of Michigan and Windsor,
Ont.
Karen, who will be a senior at
Lahser High School in the fall,
has been active in BBG for the
last three years. During that
time she has, among her many
activities, served as president of
Aliyah BBG and as a delegate
to the BBG International
Convention.
In 1985 she attended a two-
week Chapter Leadership
Training Conference in Wiscon-
sin and in 1986 the three-week
International Conventional
Leadership Training Con-
ference in upstate Penn-
sylvania. This summer she will
spend six weeks in Israel as
part of the BBYO Israel Sum-
mer Institute. Upon her return,
she will attend the BBYO Inter-
national Convention as both a
delegate and a member of the
international board.
