Have Book Review

The senior adult depart-
ment at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Branch of the Jewish
Community Center will pre-
sent a book review at 11 a.m.
Tuesday in room 4 of the
JPM Branch.
Frances Weinberg will re-
view The LeBaron Secret by
Stephen Birmingham.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday in the
JPM assembly hall, Carla
Mintz; assistant director of
the Anti-Defamation League
of B'nai B'rith, will present
an ADL update. Archie Leslie
will show the film, Lies My
Father Told Me, at 2 p.m.
Tuesday in the assembly hall.
The Social Service Club
will adopt its 11th Israeli or-
phan and hold its installation
at noon Tuesday in Jaffe Hall
of the JPM Branch.
Rabbi Benjamin Gorrelick
will speak. Helen Singer is
adviser. Sophia Hoffman will
be installed as president for
her 11th term. Sadie Levine
is secretary, Sadie Gold, trea-
surer, and Sam Kessler, re-
porter.
Rabbi Joseph Gutmann
will present a special lecture
at 11 a.m. June 26 in the
JPM assembly hall. Vi Cash
conducts exercise classes at
10:30 a.m. Mondays and Fri-
days in the assembly hall.

assistant rabbi at Temple
Beth El, will speak on "Doing
Jewish, Why We Do What
We Do" at 1 p.m. Monday in
the library at the main
Jewish Community Center,
sponsored by the senior adult
department.

Peace Teach-In

Los Angeles — Organizers of
a recent Jewish-Palestinian
teach-in declared their support
for an international Middle
East peace conference "for a
just peace in the Middle East
(and) an independent Palesti-
nian state alongside Israel with
guaranteed peace and security
for both."
The program, attended by
200 people at Los Angeles Com-
munity College, was convened
by six organizations: the
American-Arab Anti-
Discrimination Committee,
American Friends Service
Committee, Jews United for
Peace and Justice, New Jewish
Agenda, Palestine Aid Society
and Women's International
League for Peace and Freedom.
