Cari Resnick
Twins Bat Mitzvah
Cari Resnick, daughter of
Barry and Elaine Resnick,
celebrated her bat mitzvah
with her twin in absentia at
June 6 Shabbat services at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Cari's twin, Lubov Kroiter,
is the daughter of David and ,*
Fania Kroiter of Kishinev.
Kroiter is a qualified optician
with years of experience but
in 1979 when he applied for
permission to emigrate he
was dismissed from his work.
He now works as a manual
laborer.
Mrs. Kroiter has been bar-
red from her work as a music
teacher. The Kroiters had
planned to apply with Mrs.
Kroiter's mother and sister
but deferred their application
when Kroiter's father suf-
fered a heart attack. How-
ever, they informed the
authorities of their intentions
to emigrate from the Soviet
Union.
When Mrs. Kroiter's rela-
tives received their exit visas,
her husband was drafted into
the army for two years. Her
mother, Sheina Fridkina, still
awaits her daughter and fam-
ily. She is presently living in
Tel Aviv.
Beth Gold To Twin
Her Bat Mitzvah
Beth Gold, daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Morton Gold, will
twin her bat mitzvah cere-
mony with Asva Elena Vais-
man of the USSR at Shabbat
services, 9 a.m. Saturday at
Cong. B'nai Israel of West
Bloomfield.
Asva's father, Elia, applied
for an exit visa in February
1977. He was denied permis-
sion to leave based on his
army duty. He works as an
auto tractor repairman.
When he looks for other em-
ployment he is turned down
because of his application to
emigrate to Israel.
Bat Mitzvah Shared
With Soviet Youth
Marci Rayna Bloch, daugh-
ter of Louis and Flo Bloch of
W. Bloomfield, celebrated her
bat mitzvah, June 6 at Tem-
ple Beth El, with DaiTha
Brailovsky, daughter of Vik-
tor and Irina Brailovsky of
the Soviet Union.
Dalia's parents have
applied for exit visas since
1972 and have been contin-
ually denied. Since they
applied they have been for-
bidden to be involved in their
professions.
Marci's brothers, Nathan,
Leonard, Alan, Michael, and
her sister, Leah, also shared
in this occasion.
