Then Andrew Crawford, dan-
cer/choreographer wove among
the models weaving canes,
wearing top hats, leotards and
absolutely scintillating jewelry
from John Darakjian.
As usual in a Leah Marks
fashion production, the musical
beat was neatly paced and not
overly loud . . . while the 20
models and 10 children
displayed fashion from Naomi's,
Valentina's, We're For Kids,
John Darakjian Jewelers and
D.O.C. Optique . . . Cosmetics
were by Tamara Institute de
Beaute and hair stylings by
Mariomax.
It was beautiful . . . as the
high runway lights went off and
colored floods filled the stage
. . . fluttering among figured
slides shining on the backdrops
. . . The lights then came on
again . ' . with models strutting
their stuff in elegant fashions.
Before the finale was another
beautiful scene ... as two
4-year-olds, flower girl and ring
bearer in tails, walked smiling-
ly down the runway and back
. . . Leah's crew of 60 people did
a splendid job . . . The
Sisterhood of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek couldn't have been more
pleased.
RIKSHAW IN, opened at Or-
chard Lake Mall, Orchard Lake
Rd. and Maple, in November of
1973, will soon have five loca-
tions . . . Second is at Rikshaw
on Main St. at Tel-12 Mall ..
Coming soon will be Telegraph
and Elizabeth Lake Rd. . . . and
Lansing and Ann Arbor.
Owners David Lum and Bar-
rister Joe Cohen are going for
a large chain operation . . . with
same kind of personal service
and gourmet Chinese cuisine at
Orchard Mall.
Big specialties at Rikshaw
besides the Chinese gourmet
items ... . are Caesar salad and
broiled lobster cooked
American or Chinese style.
REMY BERDY is no longer
chef at Sheraton Oaks in Novi
. He has returned to London,
England . . . presumably with
plans of opening his own
restaurant.
P'JAZZ CONCERTS at
Hotel Pontchartrain on
Washington Blvd., downtown
Detroit, begin June 26 with one
of the most innovative and in-
fluential bands today . . . the
Crusaders . . . and ends Aug. 21
. Brazilian jazz vocalist Tania
M
— aria is set for July 31 and
Frankie Laine July 15.
This will be P'Jazz's 16th
season on the outdoor terrace
. . . An "All That Jazz"
weekend package includes
deluxe guest room, valet park-
ing, health club, coffee and
pastries, P'Jazz collectors' item
poster and general admission
tickets to the concert . . . Sun-
day brunch at Top of The
Pontch, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
has Larry Nozero.
CALL HELEN TACHNA
. . . 356-0247 . . . for that
