Sockhop Opens
Singles Forum

A '60s sockhop will kick off
the Fit for Single Life singles
symposium at 9 p.m. June 13 at
the main Jewish Community
Center, sponsored by the Com-
munity Network for Jewish
singles.
:The sockhop will feature the
music of Gamut and will
celebrate the 60th anniversary
of the Jewish Center.
The next day, June 14, a
series of workshops for singles
will begin following 9 a.m.
registration. Topics to be
covered include single-parent
dating, interfaith dating,
dieting, traveling, developing
one's image, dating the second
time around and more.
Kicking off the day's ac-
tivities will be Dr. Edward
Lichten, who will speak on
"Safe Sexy" Special guest will
be David Blake who will give a
talk in humor and song on
"Taking Control of Your Life."
Weather permitting, a picnic
lunch will be served, and
singles should bring blankets
on which to sit.
"Live" People Connector ads
will be part of the day's ac-
tivities. Singles also will be
able to exhibit their artwork in
a singles art exhibition.

Giant Singles
Weekend Planned

Independent
Midwest
Jewish Singles, based in St.
Louis, Mo., is planning a
giant singles party July
10-12 in St. Louis for singles
in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
The weekend will be based
at the Midway Motor Lodge
and will open with a happy
hour. The group will go to
area restaurants and discos.
Trips will be arranged to
the St. Louis Zoo, the Gate-
way Arch and other points of
interest.

Chanukah Cruise

Let's Travel, Inc. in St.
Louis announces its first
Chanukah cruise for Jewish
singles. The sailing date is
Dec. 13.
The cruise will leave from
Miami for seven days aboard
the Song of America. The
