The Jewish Community
Council is assisting in the pro-
duction of a half-hour United
Jewish Appeal videotape about
the exhibition "Auschwitz: A
Crime Against Mankind."

Detroit, which recently hosted
the exhibit, was chosen to be
the principal site for taping.
When completed, the video will
be used for Holocaust educa-
tional purposes.
Among those who partici-
pated in the program were
students in Dr. Harry Jubas'
government class at Oak Park
High School; Holocaust sur-
vivors Shari Weiss, Alex
Ehrmann, Alex Kuhn, and
Perry Shulman; and CHAIM
President Charles Silow and
Prof. Sidney Bolkosky.

Camp Tuition
For Jewish Deaf

Skokie, Ill. — Free tuition
will be awarded to those
attending the first summer
camp experience for young
Jewish deaf people, June
18-21, at Camp Henry Homer
in Round Lake, Ill.
The program is designed to
attract deaf Jewish high
schoolers from throughout
the United States, according
to Douglas Goldhamer, rabbi
of Chicago's Cong. Bene
Shalom of the Deaf. Partici-
pants in the program will
take part in various Jewish
customs and exercises, and
dietary laWs will be observed.
One of the main purposes of
the program is to provide an
opportunity for those with
hearing impairments to meet
each other.

Israelis Favor
S. Africa Links

Tel Aviv (JTA) — A recent
poll showed that 78 percent
of Israelis believe Israel
should maintain some degree
of military or commercial ties
with South Africa regardless
of the embargoes imposed by
the U.S. and Western Euro-
pean countries.
The poll was conducted by
the Modi'in Ezrachi Research
Institute for the business
daily Mabat and Maariv.
Asked for their opinion on
the issue of Israel's relations
with South Africa, 15.6 per-
cent of the respondents
thought all ties shoud be se-
vered and 28.3 percent
thought Israel should con-
tinue to maintain full con-
tacts with the Pretoria re-
gime.
Among the others, 21.3 per-
cent believed Israel should
maintain commercial ties
with South Africa but sever
military ties, and 28.3 per-
cent said ties should be main-
tained but limited.
