Jack Robinson

Jack A. Robinson will be
honored at the annual Detroit
Committee, Weizmann In-
stitute of Science, dinner as its
1987 Man of the Year. The din-
ner will take place at 6 p.m.
Sept. 10 at the Hyatt Regency
Dearborn.
Fantasy troupe Le Mas-
querade will entertain. The
black-tie function will observe
dietary laws and will serve as
a celebration of the fund-
raising efforts of the Detroit
committee. Robinson will be
honored with the establish-
ment of the Jack A. Robinson
Research Fund at the Weiz-
mann Institute of Science,
Rehovot, Israel.
Robinson is the founder,
chairman, president and CEO
of Perry Drug Stores, Inc. He
has served as past chairman of
the Allied Jewish Campaign, as
chairman of the Wayne State
Fund, as a board member of the
Jewish Welfare Federation, the
United Way of Pontiac and the
Cranbrook Institute of Science.
He has received the Tree of
Life Award from the Jewish Na-
tional Fund, the Eleanor
Roosevelt Humanities Award
from the State of Israel, the
Distinguished Alumnus Award
from Wayne State University
and the B'nai B'rith Youth Ser-
vices American Traditions
award.
