Waldvogel - Kahl

Mr. and Mrs. James
Waldvogel of Glenview, Ill.
announce the engagement of
their daughter, Carol Jean, to
Jonathan David Kahl, son of
Dr. and Mrs. Richard E. Kahl
of Livonia.
Miss Waldvogel earned a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
in jazz choreography at
Northwestern University, a
Bachelor of Music Education
degree at Illinois State Uni-
versity and a Master of Music
Education degree at the Uni-
versity of Colorado. She is
employed as conductor of the
Bloomington High School Or-
chestra and director of the Il-
linois Wesleyan University
Suzuki Violin Program.
Her fiance earned a B.A.
degree in psychology and
M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
atmospheric science at the
University of Michigan. He is
currently a research fellow in
the atmospheric and oceanic
science department at the
University of Michigan.
A July wedding is planned.

JARC Residence
Chosen For Honor

Residents of the Seymour
J. Gilmore Memorial Home,
operated by the Jewish Asso-
ciation for Retarded Citizens,
will be recognized at an
awards luncheon on June 8
for their contribution to the
community placement move-
ment.
The home will receive the
Neighbor of the Year Award,
which recognizes the resi-
dents' positive relationships
with their neighbors along
with acts of kindness and
helpfulness to others.
Joyce Keller, JARC execu-
tive director, along with resi-
dents of the home will accept
the award on behalf of JARC.
The Gilmore Home was cho-
sen from eligible nominations
in the tri-county area, and is
the third JARC home to win
the award in recent years.
Rabbi David Nelson of
Congregation Beth Shalom
will give the invocation.
