Mark Voight

Mark Voight was elected
president of Cong. Beth Shalom
at its annual congregational
meeting. Elected with him
were: Harry Freind, executive
vice president; Richard Berg,
Milton Gorelick and Herman
Ozrovitz, vice presidents;
Rhoda Krauss, treasurer; and
Gloria Ellis, recording
secretary.
Elected to the board of
trustees were: Cary Adelman,
Sid Barack, Terry Brown,
Richard Emmer, Sy Finkels-
tein, Charlotte Finstein, Ar-
thur Langer and Richard
Racusin.
Officers will be installed at
an installation dinner following
Kabbalat Shabbat services on
June 5.

Rabbi To Speak
During Shavuot

Rabbi Joseph Wanefsky, a
blind Talmudic scholar who is
a fellow of the Caroline and
Joseph S. truss Kollel Elyon at
the Yeshiva University-
affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan
Theological Seminary (RIETS)
in New York City, will deliver
a shiur (Talmudic discourse) in
Southfield during Shavuot.
The lectures will take place
Wednesday and Thursday at
Young Israel of Southfield.
Rabbi Wanefsky studied at
Yeshiva Chaim Berlin from
1954 to 1958 and later was
graduated from Yeshiva Col-
lege. He was ordained at
RIETS. He earned a Ph.D.
degree in Jewish history from
the university's Bernard Revel
Graduate School in 1970.
Rabbi Wanefsky currently
serves as "Shoel U'Meishiv" to
undergraduate students in the
Yeshiva Program/Mazer School
of Talmudic Studies.
