dedicated recently at a special
ceremony at the Jewish Voca-
tional Service.

Ex-Detroiter
Gets Cantor's Post

Cantor Allen Leider, son of
Elissa and Hal Leider of
Commerce Twp., has accepted
the position of cantor at
Temple Israel in Tulsa, Okla.
Cantor Leider earned a
master's degree - in sacred
music at the New York cam-
pus of Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of
Religion.
In Detroit, Captor Leider
sang with the choirs at Oak
Park High School and under
the direction of Cantor Louis
Klein at Cong. B'nai Moshe
and Cantor Harold Orbach of
Temple Israel.
He was graduated from the
University of Michigan with
degrees in vocal performance
and education. He was
spiritual soloist at Temple
Beth Emet in Ann Arbor and
was student cantor in
Waterford, Conn., and Dan-
bury, Conn.
At the HUC-JIR campus in
Jerusalem, Cantor Leider
toured Australia with the
Great Synagogue Choir and
sang under the direction of
Zubin Mehta.
