These seniors are among this year's top graduates

CRAIG FREEDMAN
Berkley High School
Waldman will be attending the
University of Michigan, studying
medicine in the INTEFLEX
Program. Waldman Says, "I've
always known I wanted to be a
physician."
At Berkley, he is co-captain of
the varsity tennis team and has
played tennis for the last four
years. He is also president of the
SADD organization (Students
Against Drunk Driving) at
Berkley, and a member of the
March 29th Coalition, an
organized march against the
apartheid government in South
America and U.S. involvement in
Central America.
Seaholm High School
At the University of Michigan
next fall, Winograd plans to study
law. In the future he hopes to
practice law in the field of sports.
Winograd's activities at
Seaholm include student
government and the National
Honor Society. He has received the
Phi Beta Kappa key at Seaholm
and the Student Leadership Award
for two years from the Birmingham
Optimist Club. He enjoys all sports,
particularly tennis. He will be
working at a law firm this summer.
Oak Park High School
Hootner will be attending
California State at Los Angeles,
studying medicine.
At Oak Park, he is a two-year
letterman in baseball and
basketball and a three-year
letterman in cross-country. He has
been inducted into the National
Honor Society.
Hootner's big dream one day is
to be an NBA referee.
Southfield High School
study
will
Freedman
engineering at the University of
Michigan next year.
His activities at Southfield
include chairperson of the Peer
Tutoring Program, the National
Honor Society, counselor's aide,
and yearbook faculty editor.
He won first place in the
Michigan Mathematics Prize
Competition this year, received a
U-M' Regents-Alumni Scholar
Merit Award, and was nominated
to Phi Beta Kappa.
He is also treasurer of a
National Conference of Synagogue
Youth chapter at Cong. B'nai
David.
JONATHAN WEISBLATT
JODI LEICHTMAN
ANNE RAY
Oak Park High School
Ray is valedictorian of the
senior class at Oak Park this year.
She will attend the University of
Michigan Honors College in the
fall.
Ray is a National Merit
Scholarship Finalist, has received
a U-M Regent Alumni Scholarship,
the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship, is
a member of the National Honor
Society and is in the choir and
theater group at Oak Park.
She participated in Youth
Government Day, and last summer
worked at the Cherry County
Playhouse in Traverse City as an
apprentice.
Oak Park High School
Leichtman plans to attend the
University of Michigan next fall.
At Oak Park she has been a
member of the school newspaper
and hopes to work on the Michigan
Daily at U-M. She is also a member
of the National Honor Society.
She has been an active member
of B'nai B'rith Youth and has held
both chapter and regional level
positions. Last summer, she toured
Israel for six weeks with BBYO.
Leichtman attends afternoon
classes at The Center for Advanced
Studies and The Arts which is a
consortium for four school districts
where advanced classes are held.
MICHAEL YAKER
RICHARD REZNICK
Oak Park High School
Reznick will be attending
Michigan State University in the
fall, majoring in psychology.
Berkley High School
Yaker will study pre-law at the
University of Michigan next fall.
He hopes some day to practice law
as a sports agent.
At Berkley, he is a member of
the varsity tennis, basketball and
golf teams.
Berkley High School
Weisblatt will attend the
University of Michigan in the
Honors College Program.
Eventually he plans to study law
or business.
At Berkley, he plays varsity
baseball; and is on the School
Improvement Committee. He
represented Berkley High School
on the Berkley-Huntington Woods
Youth Assistance Committee. He
was awarded a U-M Alumni
Association scholarship.
DANIEL EBENSTEIN
Akiva Hebrew Day School
Ebenstein plans to attend the
University of Michigan Honors
College where he will keep his
options open for the future.
For the fall of 1987, Ebenstein
received a Regents Scholarship. He
is also a Merit Scholarship finalist.
DANIEL YAKER
SONDRA SCHWARTZ
Berkley High School
Yaker will attend the
University of Michigan studying
either law or business
administration.
At Berkley, he has been a
member of the student council and
the National Honor Society, and
has played golf for Berkley for
three years.
Yaker, • like his twin brother
Michael, is a varsity player on the
tennis and basketball teams. In
earlier years, he was a member of
AZA.
Oak Park High School
Schwartz is attending the
University of Michigan in the fall.
Her future plans include being
either a rabbi or a teacher.
At Oak Park, she is the student
director of the school's radio
station. She is also vice president
of the National Honor Society, and
participated in youth government
in Oak Park.
Schwartz received the
Michigan Interscholastic Forensics
Association Superior Theater
Award in 1986.
