Mrs. Sherman's father, Max Fisher, presented the couple with a sculpture of David Ben-Gurion at the parlor, which saw $6.9 million in Israel Bond subscriptions. Hillel Will Dedicate New Facilities June 14 Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit will honor the families and individuals who participated as builders in the school's recently completed Capital Funds Campaign at a June 14 dedication ceremony at its Farmington Hills facility. Many of the campaign's donors will be honored individually and a recently erected dedica- tion wall will honor participants. A reception will follow the 10:30 a.m. ceremony. William Davidson will be honored for his leadership in the naming of the school's new wing as the William, Ethan and Marla Davidson Wing. Davidson's children, Ethan and Marla, both attended Hillel. Jean and Sam Frankel dedicated the school's nor- thwest wing. Mike and Mary Must will be cited for their gift of the multipurpose room. Gustav and Eva Berenholz dedicated the school's Biblical studies area. Other honorees are Mrs. Sig- mund Rohlik, junior high science laboratory; Mrs. Emma Lazaroff Schaver, the Morris L. Schaver Humanities Area; the Schostak family, dedication foyer; Judith and Stanley Frankel, Lillian and Sam Hechtman and Rochelle and Lawrence Jackier, Edythe and Joseph Jackier, the late Ben- jamin Goldberg, and the late Abe M. Weber, classrooms; Beverly and Morris Baker, science lecture area, and the late Ben Teitel, computer room. West Bloomfield 12 Friday, May 29, 1987 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS A special grant from the Jewish Welfare Federation and its United Jewish Charities enabled more than 500 students from Detroit's public schools to attend the "Auschwitz: A Crime Against Mankind" exhibition at Wayne State University, which ends today. Dr. Conrad L. Giles, president of the Jewish Welfare Federa- tion, announced the grant, which funded transportation to the exhibition. Among those who benefitted were 180 ninth graders from the Martin Luther King High School "M- SAT" (accelerated program) social studies classes. Without the grant, many Detroit students would have been unable to attend. The Jewish Community Council worked with the schools in coor- dinating.tours.
