Trade Unionists
To Visit Israel

The Jewish Community
Council has organized a mis-
sion to Israel to include meet-
ings with Histadrut leader-
ship and Labor M.K. Zaidan
Atchy; visits to Histadrut fac-
tories, clinics, and schools;
and briefings by Israel's mili-
tary and political leadership.
The mission will also include
a visit to critical border areas
and meetings with Arab
leaders.
Traveling to Israel on this
special mission will be repre-
sentatives of the United Auto
Workers, Local 600; the
Communication Workers,
Local 4002; the Clothing and
Textile Workers, Joint Board;
the United Steel Workers,
District 29; the Teamsters
Joint Council 43; the Michi-
gan Federation of Teachers;
the Detroit Federation of
Teachers; and the United
Auto Workers, Region 1B.

Detroiter Studies
At Weizmann

Aryeh Koenigsberg, a 1981
graduate of Akiva Hebrew
Day School, is one of 45 stu-
dents world-wide who have
been awarded a grant to par-
ticipate in the summer re-
search program of the Weiz-
mann Institute of Science in
Rehovot, Israel.
He will join the math-
ematics faculty project on the
design of computer hardware
in the ten-week program
which begins after Shavuot.
Aryeh is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ithamar Koenigsberg of
Oak Park. His mother, Phyl-
lis Koenigsberg, is a kinder-
garten teacher at Akiva.
A graduating senior at
Yeshiva University in New
York, Aryeh will enter the
Columbia University School
of Engineering this fall.
