THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Seven leaders of Reform
Jewry in the local community
will be honored by the national
movement at a dinner on June
4 at Temple Emanu-El.
The dinner, hosted by the
Metropolitan Detroit Federa-
tion of Reform Synagogues, is
sponsored by the Fund for
Reform Judaism.
The fund will honor Dr. Ken-
neth and Kim Dickstein, of
Temple Beth Jacob; Dr. Stuart
Falk, of Temple Emanu-El;
Herbert Kaufman, of 'Ibmple
Beth El; Doreen and Stanley
Millman, of Temple Israel; and
Stephen Strome, of Temple Kol
Ami.
Each will receive the Lamed
Vav Award of the Union of
American Hebrew
Congregations.
The awards are a work of art
created by New Yorker Shirley
Zwang for the UAHC. The
design incorporates the legend
of the Lamed Vavniks, those 36
righteous individuals
throughout the world who pur-
sue good deeds in all
generations.
Invitations have been mailed
to the membership of each of
the honorees' congregations
and to the Troy Jewish Con-
gregation, which is also a
member of the Metropolitan
Federation.

The Fund for Reform
Judaism has a goal of $100,000.
Funds raised support the nine
summer camps operated by the
UAHC, enable the Reform
movement to send young people
to Israel, support Reform
Jewish Outreach to converts
and non-Jews, operate a
Religious Action Center in
Washington, D.C., and sponsor
a task force on suicide
prevention.
For reservations, call any of
the participating synagogues.
