Rabbi Shmuel Kaufman, a
30-year veteran of the teaching
staff of Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah, was honored with the
"Hemshech Award" at the
Torah Umesorah/National
Society for Hebrew Day
School's 43rd annual
convention.
The "Hemshech" teacher of
the year award was presented
to Rabbi Kaufman "in recogni-
tion of his outstanding work in
perpetrating rIbrah education!'
Many of Rabbi Kaufman's
students have earned rab-
binical degrees and have
become rabbis, teachers and
educators in their own right.
Rabbi Kaufman is a senior
rebbe and Talmud instructor in
the intermediate department of
the yeshivah and also serves as
the director of scholarships and
endowments for the school.
