Viednesoks, Alas ao,198Z — 8:00 Wolf Blitzer, Washington bureau chief of the Jerusalem Post and author of Between Washington and Jerusalem: A reporter's Notebook, will speak, 8 p.m. Tuesday, in Cong. Shaarey Zedek's Morris Adler Hall. Blitzer has been covering Washington since 1973 and has written numerous articles on the Arab-Israeli conflict. He has been a frequent commen- tator on American TV. The late Anwar Sadat credited Wolf Blitzer with first giving him the idea of making his trip to Jerusalem in November 1977. In December of that same year, Blitzer spent two years in Egypt covering the first Israeli-Egyptian peace con- ference. In 1979, he accom- panied President Carter to Egypt and Israel during the final round of negotiations which led to the signing of the peace treaty. In 1984, Blitzer taught political science at the Univer- sity of Maryland. He has earn- ed degrees at the State Univer- sity of New York at Buffalo and Johns Hopkins. The community is invited to the lecture at no charge. Although Blitzer's appearance is sponsored by the Berry fami- ly, he will be presented under the aegis of the Shaarey Zedek Cultural Commission, Walter L. Field, founder. Dr. Samuel Stulberg is the commission chairman, Dr. Paul Gold and Linda Zalla are co-chairmen and Ceil Kliger Ruda is chair- man of public relations. o'clock- Historical Society Meeting Planned Birminshatn Communit 8 house Bates and Townsend Inquire about our GREAT ESCAPE WEEKEND for two' Wolf Blitzer - Birmingham, MichCsan_ * RESERVE NOW * Quality Inn Quality Inn of Farmington Hills 1-696 at Orchard Lake and Twelve Mile Roads (313) 553-0000 presented by 'FRIDAY OR SATURDAY - BASED UPON AVAILABILITY OF TICKETS 92 Friday, May 8, 1987 GtheRX) E,Group THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS I 1 11 1 ADMISSION FREE I I The Jewish Historical Society of Michigan will hold_ an open house and reception in the organization's new office in the Jewish Voca- tional Services Building, 29699 Southfield, Suite 217, Southfield, 8 p.m. May 18.
