Nora Lessman has been nam-
ed chairman of the annual
donor luncheon sponsored by
the American Women for Bar-
Ilan University, announced
Barbara Stollman, president, of
the group's Detroit Chapter.
Linda Zlotoff and Leila
Stollman are the co-chairmen.
The luncheon will be held on
June 8 and will be hosted by
Doreen Hermelin. Entertain-
ment will be provided by the
Michigan Duo, Ginka Gerova-
Ortega, flutist; Vladislav
Kovalsky, pianist.
Funds raised by the group,
both from this function and
through its other activities, are
dedicated to the strengthening
of Bar-Ilan University's library
system.
Mrs. Lessman serves as vice
president-fund raising for the
Detroit Chapter and is a life
member of the organization.
Along with her husband, Sol,
who serves on the University's
American Board of Overseers,
she has been a longtime sup-
porter of the university.
In addition, Mrs. Lessman is
a founder, past president, cur-
rent treasurer, past honoree,
and life member of the Batya
Chapter of Amit Women. She
sits on the national board of
that organization and has
dedicated a dormitory at Bet
Hayeled in Jerusalem in
memory of her sister.
Zedakah Club
To Hold Donor
Zedakah Club will hold its
54th annual donor luncheon,
noon, May 18, at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek. There is a
charge.
Proceeds from the event
will be used to assist the
• aged, the disabled and men-
tal institutions.
Cheryl Bensman, a former
Michigan resident now living
in New York, will entertain.
