Schlick Awarded
Science Fellowship
Tamar Schlick, daughter of
Shula and Haim Schlick of
Southfield, has been awarded a
National Science Foundation
postdoctoral fellowship in the
mathematical sciences for
1987-1989.
Currently, Schlick is com-
pleting her doctoral dissefta-
tion in applied mathematics at
Courant Institute of
Mathematical Sciences, New
York University. She will re-
main at Courant Institute to
conduct her postdoctoral
research.
Schlick is an alumna of
Wayne State University.

will host a parlor meeting, 8
p.m. May 19, in honor of the
centennial of The Jewish
Theological Seminary of
America.
The parlor meeting will be
held as a prelude to the Detroit
city-wide Centennial Dinner,
June 10 at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek.
At the parlor meeting, Rabbi
Yaakov G. Rosenberg, vice
chancellor of JTS, will be the
guest speaker. He is also a
member of the faculty, teaching
homiletics, psychiatry and pro-
fessional skills.
General chairman for the
seminary's Detroit campaign is
Harold Berry. Vice chairman is
Milt Gilman. Dinner chairmen
are Marcy Feldman and Dr. _
Harris Mainster. The guest
speaker at the centennial din-
ner will be seminary Chancel-
lor Dr. Ismar Schorsch.
