Praise" that appears as an ad-
dendum to the Book of Daniel
has been published as a char-
ming and beautifully il-
lustrated book for children.
Under the title "The Song of
the Three Holy Children"
(Henry Holt),. the illustrations
are by Pauline Baynes. The
song was chanted by Shadrach,
Meshach and Abednego, three
Jewish captives who refused to
worship the Babylonian King
Nebuchadnezzar. They were
thrown into a fiery furnace and
were saved by an angel who
prevented the flames from
touching them.
The colorful Baynes pain-
tings illustrate this fascinating
story. They are reminders of
the beautiful manuscripts of
the Spanish Jewish era.
The "Hymn of Praise"
motivating this story that is
certain to charm the young
readers and will also invite the
interest of their elders com-
mences this tale, thus:
