BARRY'S LETS RENT IT YOUR DATELIN 851-0909 PARTY RENTALS ALL OCCASIONS Palace, Rooney's, Amster- dam's and a new club called Berlin. Gary Speisman, 29, a demographer for the Toronto Jewish Congress, the coun- terpart to Detroit's Jewish Welfare Federation, said there are several clubs and restaurants to which Jewish singles go to mingle. Among them he listed: Bregman's re- staurant, The Keg restaur- ant, Lick's Hamburgers, and clubs such as Brandy's, Sparkles at the CN Tower, The Diamond, 'The Copa, The Blue Note and RPM. Speisman added that the Yorkville area is "another Jewish hot spot." "There are many trendy, expensive shops, restaurants, bars, boutiques. It's very crowded in summer or during warm weather. Asked if any of them had placed or 'answered personal ads, only one had placed an ad, while the others said they had thought about it. For the most part, singles go to the parties and the clubs, out for coffee and dinner and to the movies. But according to Elaine Wise, one really has to look to himself herself to have a good time. "You have to make your own fun, your own crowd and your own scene." ❑ CALENDAR COMMUNITY NETWORK FOR .
