Dr. Frymer-Kensky

Dr. Tikva Frymer-Kensky
will be the featured speaker
on Tuesday at the annual
Sisterhood Education Day
sponsored by the sisterhoods
of Cong. Beth Shalom, B'nai
Moshe and Temple
Emmanu-El.
Dr. Frymer-Kensky, who
received her Ph.D. degree
from Yale University, is cur-
rently the visiting associate
professor, women's studies, at
the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor.
Her major fields of spe-
cialization include Biblical
studies and women and reli-
gion. During the course of the
Education Day workshop, Dr.
Freymer-Kensky will address
"Trends and Issues of Jewish
Women — Past, Present and
Future," focusing on such
topics as women - law and
liturgy, women in Jewish life,
pro-natalism - fertility, sur-
vival and women, women's
ritual and women and Jewish
thought.
Education Day will be held
at Cong. B'nai Moshe, begin-
ning at 9:30 a.m. There is a
fee. Babysitting is available
by advance registration only.
