ing, "A Slice of Jewish Life."
Benyas is an award-
winning actress, a singer,
musician and educator. Be-
sides her performances in
theater, musicals and opera,
she has appeared in many
television commercials and
industrial films. She recently
appeared in the Michigan
Opera Theater's production of
My Fair Lady.Fleischer has
numerous acting credits,
covering a wide range of roles
in both musicals and drama.
She has directed plays for
Attic Theater, Actors' Al-
liance and most currently the
University of Detroit's Thea-
ter Company. She trained at
the Hilberry Repertory
Studio and has taught acting
and direction.
Edie Mittenthal is vice
president of the Women's Di-
vision. Barbara Berry is
chairman of the annual meet-
ing committee. Marjorie
Krasnick is her associate and
invitation design chairman;
and Leah Snider is adviser.

The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater De-
troit "Section, to pay special
tribute to the role of the vol-
unteer, has set its own
NCJW Week to coincide with
National Volunteer Week
(Sunday through May 2) and
has planned a special
"Thank-You" tea and a week-
long series of activities to
honor its 3,200 members.
Programming begins Mon-
day with a seminar on
"Stress — Don't Need It ...
Don't Want It ... Get Rid Of
It." Dr. Jacqueline Grekin,
associate professor, Michigan
State University College of
Osteopathic Medicine, will
speak. The workshop will
take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2
p.m. at the NCJW offices.
There is a fee, which includes
lunch. Call NCJW, 258-6000,
for reservations.
Guests are welcome to the
section's open board meeting
and lunch Tuesday, begin-
ning at 9:30 a.m. at the
NCJW offices.
On Wednesday, the com-
munity is invited to visit the
Fashion Spree Depot, at
23121 Coolidge, Oak Park.
The depot is open every
Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to
3 p.m. for all "gently worn"
items. Other clothing is wel-
come at any of the NCJW
Thrift Shops, open six days a
week in Royal Oak, Warren
and Detroit.
A dessert tea and concert is
set for Thursday at 3 p.m. at
Temple Beth El. The event is
planned to 'thank all NCJW
volunteers for their service
throughout the year. Special
honoree of the afternoon will
be Josephine Weiner, past
national and section
president. A select ensemble
of the Madrigal Chorale, di-
