BNAI BRITH Oakland Century Cites Friedman On April 25th Oakland Century Lodge, B'nai B'rith, will hold its an- nual "Spirit of B'nai B'rith Award" dinner and reception honoring Jerome G. Fried- man, on April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel, South- field. Nathan D. Rubenstein, president of Michigan Hillel Fund, will make the pre- sentation to Friedman, who is past president of Oakland- Century and its current sec- retary. Friedman has been active in various leadership capacities in B'nai B'rith for the past 15 years. , He recently served as president of the Hebrew Be- nevolent Society of which he is an active board member. A past president of the Oddfel- lows, he is also a trustee of the Jericho Temple building association as well as a board member of the "Olde Franklin Towne" subdivision association in Farmington Hills. Friedman is a member of Temple Israel and Mosaic Lodge of Masons. For many years he was an adviser to the Mosaic Chapter of De- Molay. That evening, Oakland Century will present its scholarship awards to two college students. Sol E. Goldberg will make the pre- sentation. Alan Hitsky, news editor for The Jewish News, will be the guest speaker. He will comment on what is making Jerome Friedman news in the local Jewish community.
