Mrs. Salon, a pianist, was a scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Both she and her husband were humanitarians and life-long supporters of the arts. The scholarship, given an- nually to a pianist, flutist,' or clarinetist at Michigan State University, Wayne State University, or Oakland Uni- versity was won this year by Mark Chrzanowski, a senior at Wayne State University who is majoring in music therapy and is president of the Student Music Therapy Association.
