50th Anniversary
Rose and Henry Halprin of
West Bloomfield recently
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at a party given
in their honor by their chil-
dren.
Relatives and friends joined
them for dinner at the Furni-
ture Club where the couple
renewed their marriage vows,
officiated by Rabbi M. Robert
Syme of Temple Israel. Their
children and grandchildren
participated in the ceremony.
The Halprins were married
in Detroit on March 14, 1937
and have lived their entire
lives in the Detroit area.
Sinai Health Day
At JCC Sunday
Questions about drug
abuse, health emergencies,
and routine health matters
will be answered free of
charge at the Sinai Hospital's
Guild Health Education Day
on Sunday.
It will be held from 1 to 5
p.m. at the Jewish Commu-
nity Center in West Bloom-
field. Free health tests and
screenings will also be avail-
able.
Two free Heart Saver
classes are alsd being offered.
Participants in the class will
learn cardiopulmonary resus-
citation and be awarded a
certificate.
Free cholesterol,
blood
•
pressure, blood typing and
oral cancer detection tests
will be available. 'Occult
blood test kits, which screen
for diseases of the digestive
tract,•will be distributed.
Free bus service from the
Jewish Community Center's
Jimmy Prentis Morris branch
in Oak Park will be available
throughout the day. Valet
parking will be available for
a nominal fee at the JCC in
West Bloomfield.
Cancer Self-Help
Group To Meet
A Focus on Living (with
cancer) meeting will be held
7:30 p.m. Monday, in the
Southfield Civic Center. •
