Orchestra coffee concert to-

Council Forms
Travel Committee
Johanna Eisenberg of
Southfield will chair an Is-
rael travel promotion com-
mittee being formed by the
Jewish Community Council
of Metropolitan Detroit.
The committee will consult
with El Al, Israel's national
airline, and other carriers,
the Israel Government
Tourist Office and local
travel agents to develop pro-
grams for increasing travel to
Israel from southeast Michi-
gan.
An Israel group travel
calendar will be periodically
published by the Council
with information for those in-
terested in group traveloppor-
tunities to Israel.
Other projects to be consid-
ered
include:
special
community-chartered flights
to Israel; the promotion of Is-
rael travel to special interest
segments such as health spa
patients, retireees, scuba di-
vers, bird watchers and
others; and the development
of a plan to place Israel
among the favored destina-
tions of overseas vacationers.

Jewish Welfare Federation,

United Jewish Appeal.
The mission, for Allied
Jewish Campaign con-
tributors of $10,000 and over,
will take participants to
Romania, Sept. 9-13, and
then Israel, Sept. 12-18. Mis-
sion leaders are Jane Sher-
man and David Hermelin.
In Romania, participants
will attend a children's choir
performance, meet with
Romania's chief rabbi and
visit the old age home. In Is-
rael, Sherman and Hermelin
will lead the group through
briefings by top government
leaders, as well as visits to
industrial facilities and a
Joint Distribution Committee
center.
